Seed Montessori is an after school classroom where kids grades K-5 come for lessons in our fun, safe, kid-centered environment. Seed after school is hands on! Located at 500 Madison Street in Oak Park, IL, Seed after school has paints, plants, cardboard, scissors, fossils and a really good time! seed has everything you need to learn--plus a stage of our own and most important, an experienced director who bring the world to children and children to the world. Seed after school offers transportation from D97 schools and is within walking distance of many Oak Park schools and homes. We are open every school day from school dismissal time until 6pm, Meaningful lessons and projects are a part of every day and families can tailor schedules to fit their own needs.

 

Excitement is our most important tool; the way we teach feels more like fun than learning. Lessons are targeted at the imagination and children have choices. They exercise free will and gain independence commensurate with maturity and responsibility. Hands-on materials deepen understanding. Working in our positive environment, children enjoy the experience of success at every work level, every work day. Maria Montessori implored us to "follow the child" and at Seed, that's our specialty. At registration, each family meets with Director Ileana Gomez to discuss the educational and social history of the child and to establish a plan. Together we set goals and open lines of communication. Seed after school welcomes your decision to provide input about your child from other important sources--Grandma and Grandpa, the "regular teacher", and health and education professionals. Seed is a full partner in your child's success.

Seed Director, Ileana Gomez, has 30 years of Montessori experience working with children and families.
